From Ferrymead Veterinary Clinic to Estuary Veterinary clinic
22/02/2013 changed many people's and pets' lives... ours included.
We would love to share a little bit of our story...
We made the journey South from Whangarei in September 1999 to takeover Ferrymead Veterinary Clinic .
The journey only really started then with many changes being made along the way, a cattery was added, a groomer employed, our surgical area, xray areas and kenneling extended. Achieving best practice accreditation was also a big step along the way, an achievement we were all proud of and ensured the best care possible for our patients. It was always important for us to practice to the highest possible standard. February 2011 earthquakes changed many peoples lives, ours was affected by loosing our clinic. This was devastating for us, our staff and of course our veterinary community owners and beloved pets. The building was demolished in March 2012 and the waiting game continued for insurance payout on contents and the building, crippling for us, but unfortunately this story would be similiar to that of a lot of our clients in the area.
It has been quite a life changing experience but after an extended holiday to South Africa to consider our options the decision to start again was made and we started looking for new premises.
Estuary Veterinary Clinic has come about from a devastating experience and could not have been achieved without the unwavering support and enthusiasm of past and present staff and friends.
We are all delighted to be back and are happy to welcome new and former clients and patients to the new clinic .
Seeing the animals and our former clients has been very positive and uplifting for us and the community- it feels like there is progress and a return to normality.
